About Brian James

I am a professional photographer who relocated to the Greater Toronto Area a few years ago from Washington D.C. I am a professional photographer, specializing in digital photography and film, who enjoys shooting a variety of styles within multiple settings. Years ago I initially explored photography as an outlet to express my creativity. I quickly fell in love with the creative process, the power of its storytelling and the finished product. In 2017, I took my passion to a more serious level and started shooting professionally.

I encourage you to explore my portfolio, including my diverse stream of  landscapes, commercial and business, model portfolios, product marketing and headshots. While it may be that photographers are in one camp or the other, digital imagery or film, light and airy or dark and mysterious. I do not limit my creativity. One client may desire a different outcome from the next, but each client is treated with respect and is always in focus.

Using one technique or aesthetic may not be the best way to express you, the subject, to its truest form and sense. Expression with photography varies from the smallest element. Certain seasons, its elements and subject may differ. Often times the natural light and sudden peace of sunrise tells a different story from the dramatic and picturesque elements of sunset. Indoor visuals of the light peering through a window, touching the curtains create a different effect from that of an outdoor, well-composed landscape shot. My joy comes from the creative process, from the shot, composition, edit and the finished product.

My approach is simple and true.
